practicing.

siena is really into caring for all her dolls lately. she has four dolls that she looks after, little nicky, penny, bella and lenny. currently two of them live in a purse full of her special things (let's hope she doesn't do that with any real babies). she gives them "milkies' when they're hungry, bathes them, changes poopy diapers all the time, carries them in a sling while shhing them to sleep, pushes them in a stroller, puts them into her car seat and pretends to drive. she has been paying attention to all the details and hopefully will be quite the mama's helper.

shower fun...

we went to a baby shower for alexis and rob last weekend. siena had a lot of fun visiting with friends like sinai and finnly. however, i think she really enjoyed all the attention from her aunties (we were lucky to have genevieve in town and spent some nice time together) and especially had fun being silly with auntie natalie. toward the end of the party, after some delicious chocolate cake made by auntie vida, siena was spent and ready to come home. we're looking forward to meeting a new little girlfriend in the next month!

easter.

we had a mellow easter in the east bay. we met tutu and baba for an early breakfast, then while the boys did some work, the girls took a walk. siena rode her bike to the cupcake store and then indulged in a pink cupcake. it was a special day for sure.

sadie is here!

our friends gabe and sammy had their babygirl, sadie sweet pea, early last week. we had the pleasure of meeting her last weekend. siena was very curious about her, but did not like it when i held her. it was fine however when dad held the baby. siena got to play with her own sweetpea doll and eventually touched sadie's feet. congratulations sammy and gabe, we're so excited to have a new friend.

brunch.

we had a lovely brunch at the collins' household last weekend. anna made us crepes that were a total treat, the kids ate cookies and then we had a test run egg hunt. a very nice morning indeed.

this outfit is definitely a winner. siena is very particular about each part of her outfits these days, right down to the accessories. look closely and you'll see three purses each just as important as the next. she also loves to wear my favorite necklace (joy) and flip-flops even though it's still very much winter here (and they stink!). her favorite colors are pink and purple (how that happened i do not know) and she can often be found in at least a few shades of each. it may not be the way i would dress her, but i'm growing to love each and every new outfit.

away.

last weekend, well i guess two weekends ago now, nick and i went away by ourselves for two whole nights! it was a long relaxing weekend and i'm so glad we took the time to treat ourselves before this new babe arrives. thank you josah, muluk and tutu bobbin for taking care of our sweet sisi. i have to admit i missed her as soon as i drove away and was so happy to see her beautiful face when we got home.
