we had a lovely dinner with aleishall, matt and toscana the other night. siena was giving toscana raspberries and trying to eat her toes. how special girlfriends are!

90 years & 9 months

today gramps turned 90 years old. he was in good spirits and making us all laugh. how amazing it is to live 90 years. siena is blessed to have great grandparents, especially one as cute as gramps. 
siena turned 9 months yesterday. she has spent about the same time on the outside as she did on the inside. she is standing by herself and enjoying life.
i thought party hats were a must for a 90th birthday party, don't you?

garage sale.

today we had our annual garage sale. we had many visitors including my paper source ladies (erene, allie, mara & dottie, anna & zayneb & aida) who came all the way from the city to visit. it was a very pleasant day. thank you to everyone (especially gen, alexis, giancarlo & nuria) for your help and donations. looking forward to next year.

i can't find words to express the pure joy siena brings to my life. how lucky i am.  

zarina.

zarina came over to play this afternoon. siena seems to enjoy watching the older kids play. she holds herself well among the big kids. one day siena will be 4 years old like zarina, wow!

toscana.

this is siena's girlfriend toscana. she is about 3 1/2 months old and very darling. we take music class together on wednesdays. siena is teaching toscana the greatness of the pacifier.

Georgia.

now that siena feeds herself georgia and her have become much closer. whatever siena drops georgia is there to clean up, peas, carrot, tofu, whatever.

khalil (almost 6!), aya mila (2 1/2), and siena rose (8 months). how sweet it is to have cousins.

siena does this cute thing where she attacks her friends. she opens her mouth, makes a shrieking sound, and goes in for the kill. in this video she is doing it to khalil over and over, it was pretty funny to watch.

the other night while we were out to a nice sushi dinner, siena started to feed herself. the waitress gave us a bowl of small tofu cubes which siena had a fun time playing with, but she also got a few pieces into her mouth. now life is gonna get real messy...

i have been trying to teach siena some sign language. yesterday she actually started ito sign "more" while i was feeding her. i don't think she gets what it means quite yet, but she is copying the motion with is totally cool. she also is waving hello and goodbye (pictures on their way).

great grandparents.

on friday we went to the de young museum with magda and seymour to see the chihuly exhibit. it was a feast for the eyes and siena took it all in. i want to go again. it was a lovely day with the great grandparents.

tonight we had a very nice visit with natalie and justin complete with cupcakes, yum!

my 29th...

on my 29th birthday we went to san francisco to shop at some of my favorite stores. here we are in japan town after going to the greatest shop of them all, kinokuniya.

siena enjoys looking out our bedroom window into the garden. she watches the bamboo wave in the wind and the squirrels busy at work.
