smiles.

adios...

josah and muluk are driving back to mexico and we already miss them so much it hurts. we've been lucky to have had them in the bay for over 2 years. it will definitely be an adjustment to have them so far away. hopefully we will cross paths again soon. much love to you both!

dinner, kisses & pj's

siena and rocco had sadie and stella over for dinner one of these past weekends and it was wild! they played music, danced and sadie was quite the little lover girl when it was time to say good-bye. what nice friends we have.

yum!

box.

this large box from diapers.com was a favorite play area for weeks. sometimes the simplest objects make the greatest toys.

ziplock bags...

siena must have been channeling her great grandfather gramps for this set-up. gramps always used ziplock bags when he traveled to keep his belongings organized.

a city adventure...

we had a fun city day with papa the other weekend. we walked to three different parks, rode the merry-go-round and ate grilled cheese sandwiches in the park. the kids were spent by the end of the morning and fell asleep within minutes of getting in the car. thanks for the fun adventure papa.

swimming...

we've been taking the kids swimming lessons twice a week over the past three weeks. siena was old enough to take a class on her own and loved her cute teenage teachers. rocco and nick had a rough start, but by the end rocco was enjoying the experience (nick not so much).

three and one half.

siena turned three and a half on june 27th. since there had been so many birthdays happening and her real birthday is right smack in the middle of christmas and new years, we decided to make a little deal about her half birthday. we sang, blew-out a candle, ate a treat and siena even got a gift. as you can see there were also tears (because at first she didn't like how long her new tutu was) just to make it a complete celebration. oh that sisi...

little drummer...

rocco likes to bang on everything. he is SO noisey!

handmade horse!

tutu B made siena a great horse out of a paper bag in about 10 mintues flat. it is still bringing her joy, especially since she got a great pair of hand-me-down cowboy boots and likes to prepend she's a cowgirl.

rocco's tutu...

we put rocco in a tutu one morning (at siena's request of course) and sent him to school in it. however, i was surprised to see that he still had it on at he end of the day when i went to pick the kids up.

an evening with jules...

julius spend an impromptu evening with us a few weeks back and it was very special. he calls nick "homie nick" and definitely prefers him over me. both siena and rocco loved having a little friend with us for the whole evening and for the most part shared their space nicely. maybe one day we'll have a real sleepover with julius, only when he's truly ready of course.

storyteller.

awhile back nick started telling siena princess stories before she went to sleep. then the job got transfered to me. it's not easy coming up with a new princess story each night, so if i'm lucky siena will tell me one all on her own.

fourth.

to celebrate the 4th of july we went to the goldman's for good company, delicious food, and a dip in the pool. the kids got to visit with sinai and kaya (now 3 months old) and fight over the many great cars aunt lori has collected. it was hot and the pool felt great, even rocco enjoyed it. siena preferred the cars, but couldn't help and jump in the pool a few times as well.

tutu's new digs...

4th of july weekend we went to check out tutu B's new digs. we explored both the indoors and outdoors, took a nice long walk, ate yummy meals, and just generally enjoyed ourselves. rocco did break a lamp, but he also slept through the night (not totally related i know, however, one is positive and the other not so much). siena made a great flower set-up and did some artwork for the new house. we look forward to many more visits.

zeke.

a few weeks ago now (oops!) rebecca and zeke came to visit us. zeke is only 6 weeks older than rocco, but seems like a much bigger boy for some reason. it might just be the hair, but his way of playing and skill set just seem more "boy" than "baby." it was a nice relaxed visit which i hope we can repeat soon.

county fair!

last weekend we went to the county fair and it was soooo hot. siena loved the rides (last year she wouldn't go on any) and rocco was on the go. it was harder then the last two years we've gone with two kids to look after, but the fair is always an experience and we'll be back next year for sure.
