little girls...

last week we had a playdate with dottie and mara. i was also watching toscana so we had a total of three little girls. it's a trip how quickly our babes have turned into girls, even toscana and she just turned one. dottie and siena pushed one another in a baby stroller and played with these sweet umbrellas that mara gave us (thank you again!). later toscana and siena bounced around on aya's two bouncing horses.

siena has showed a lot of interest in these cars at a local park. one day she just sat in it for over thirty minutes. we took her to the toy store and she didn't want to get out of it, so we brought it home. hey, whatever it takes to get a few minutes to ourselves.

i took my suitcase out of the garage for tartar to borrow and siena thought it would be fun to get a ride in it. we tried both the backpack and rolling methods. siena enjoyed both. 

teenagers.

our teenage friends celia and annie are back for summer break from their first year of college. we had a picnic at a great park in oakland last week. i was hoping that they would hang out with siena all summer while i did craft projects, but turns out they have their own plans, bummer. it's too bad because seina seems to really like them both. we'll just have to have a few more picnics i suppose.

siena had a new houseguest this weekend, baba. no matter how big or small you are, siena likes everyone to come into her new house. 

swimming with cousins...

on saturday we watched khalil and aya for the day. since the weather was nice we went to the pool in emeryville where magda and seymour live. auntie roro and cousin sophie came too. all the kids played really nicely together. cousins sure are the best.

siena loves to do anything that us big folks do. lately a new obsession is walking the dog or any dog she might be near. georgia is a little too big and strong for siena to really walk, but last weekend she got the walk leo a sweet dog of our friend robin. auntie natalie helped siena and leo walk up and down the block while mama got to drink coffee and gossip with the ladies, thanks nat!

one.

toscana turned one last week so we had to celebrate with crowns and cupcakes of course. siena had so much fun at the party getting dirty and visiting with friends. she got lots of love from uncle pete and made a new friend with the same red shoes. 

the o'neals.

last weekend we took a fun bike ride with rachel, tobe, tyler and hudson. we rode to cedar rose park in berkeley to play,  siena also took a short nap. it was a fun outing that we'll have to do again soon.  

smarty pants.

the other day siena watched as georgia took a poop in the backyard. she then came into the house to tell me all about it and led me outside to see it. after i had seen it siena walked inside the house to where we keep the poop bags and brought one outside for me to pick up the poop. she has become so observant these days, we have to watch ourselves and make sure we're setting a good example. oh and minutes after this happened siena started to eat chalk. we're still working on some things.

31.

nick turned 31 last week. we took siena to the academy of sciences in the city. she really liked watching the fish swim around. i think the best part was running around in the garden and riding the cat. then we drove home picked up dinner and had the cousins over (aya slept the whole time). khalil and siena did a number on the cake before we ate it, but it was still yummy. all in all it was a very pleasant thursday.

sometimes siena's eyes looked totally green. beautiful. 

five.

we just celebrated our five year anniversary. siena didn't even get us anything, but we love her still.

new real estate.

nick bought siena her very own home. it's missing a few things like running water and electricity, but she loves it. all friends are invited to come play. she likes when everyone tries to pile in together.
