bottles.

we are starting to introduce bottles to lil' rocco in preparation of me going back to work and also to allow me a little more freedom. i didn't bottle feed siena so it is all very new to me. alexis fed him his first bottle last week and he did really well, sucking down 6 1/2 ounces. the following day nicky gave rocco a bottle with some help from sisi. i think nick really enjoyed feeding him and i enjoyed watching it. it's nice to know that your baby can be totally cared for by someone else if need be.

ice cream.

last week i went to siena's school to make hand cranked ice cream with the kids. we decided to make vanilla and it turned out very tasty indeed. rocco enjoyed the visit as well.

sunday...

breakfast at sol food and some jazz with papa, very nice...

summer bar-b-que.

we had an impromptu bbq last weekend which turned out to be a lot of fun. there were a total of six kids, which made for a lot of action. there were only a few moments when no baby was crying or no bigger kid making noise. we got to meet scott and susan's baby isla (3 months) for the first time which was a total treat, rocco got some nice time with auntie vida and siena got to hold stella for the first time. i hope we get around to having a few more bar-b-que's later this summer.

auntie tashi...

we are so lucky to have auntie tashi in our lives. she has been huge help since rocco was born with everything from entertaining siena to changing dipers. we love having her good energy around, even if she leaves dirty dishes in the sink.

dinner at mimi's...

we didn't get great photos, but we did have a great time at mimi's. we had a nice dinner with mimi, grandma magda and grandpa seymour. siena really enjoys being with her grandparents and great grandparents. it's sweet to watch their interactions.

isobel & family...

awhile back (i think a few weeks, maybe even a month!) we met isobel and her family at the discovery museum. the girls are about a year apart, but had a lot of fun playing together at this great new place. we got together to celebrate sisi and isobel becoming big sisters (rocco and ingrid are a couple weeks apart). it was a very nice morning that i hope to repeat soon.

faces...

like siena, lil' rocco has many faces. he started to give us real smiles around 6 weeks old and it is so special.

silly...

sinai and siena being silly.

alameda county fair...

since going to the fair last year we've been looking forward to going again. we were a little nervous about going with rocco since last year was so hot, but it was the perfect temperature and he slept the whole time in his stroller. siena loved the fair! she loved watching all the people (it was hard to keep her walking forward), she loved the pink foot massage chairs that were every few yards (she sat on most of the pink ones we walked past), the chocolate dipped ice cream was a big hit, we got an air brushed siena shirt with a pink heart on it of course and she even attempted a ride all by herself (however, as soon as it started that smile turned into a cry and the operator had to stop the ride so she could get off). my favorite part was the old school photo booths and i think nick would say either the large beer you can walk around with or the corn dog. i'm already looking forward to next year.

oakland museum.

we had a fun adventure day with tutu bobbin and went to the remodeled oakland museum. the galleries were fun to walk through, but siena had the most fun exploring the outdoor spaces. she especially liked the fish pond, walking on the concrete walls and the light wall in the parking lot. also siena made us all wear our converse so we would be "same-same."

colorful.

we did it!

siena, rocco and myself survived our first full day by ourselves. we did however have some help from vida and sinai, rachel and hudson, and even alexis and stella came through. it ain't easy but we did it with minimal breakdowns and some good long naps.

fifth.
