sun and a swim.

it was hot enough to go swimming one past weekend, so we headed down to grandma magda and grandpa seymour's pool. jaime, pete and julius joined us and the kids enjoyed the swim time. rocco had no fear as usual and would run off the edge of the pool into our arms, which made me a bit nervous. maybe its time for a life vest.

ferry building.

last weekend we finally made it to the farmers market at the ferry building. it was huge and very busy. we walked through the whole thing, got some yummy treats, then made our way to the pier to run around and watch the fishermen. a pleasant saturday outing.

a date with toscana...

after coming home from canada siena really wanted to meet matiz, but mostly wanted to see her special buddy toscana. so we invited toscana to the park for a bike ride and a little picnic. the girls enjoyed their visit (and their cookies) very much.

food trucks...

while genevieve and darren were in town we made it over to the food trucks in berkeley and had a picnic at live oak park. always a pleasure to see you all, come back soon.

another friend of siena's from her daycare that will be attending her new preschool. luckily they both share a love of dress-up.

matiz!

announcing siena and rocco's newest little buddy matiz pascal (toscana's baby sister). she was born while we were in canada and we couldn't get back quick enough to meet her. we are so excited to watch her grow. welcome sweet one.

avery...

a few weeks ago we finally made time to visit with meridith and avery (siena's old buddy miles' baby sister). it was fun to see how she'd grown since the last visit and we even got stella and alexis in the mix. hope to see you all again soon.

vacation!

the kids, tutuB, and myself (nick stayed at home, boo) went on vacation to auntie nuria's family lake house in canada. it's always a treat to be at this beautiful home in such an amazing location. after a long flight there (will never take a redeye again), then a two hour drive, we arrived at the dock tired, but very excited. over the 8 days there we went on boats rides, swam, napped, had lots of cousin time, went on the trampoline, read books, ate and ate, laughed and cried. it was pretty special and as always it's always nice to come home as well. thank you to peggy and nuria for sharing this special place with us.

preschool.

siena will be starting preschool in the fall. we've been attending a few gatherings for new families in an effort to get more familiar with the school. she is always a little worried before we arrive, but that shifts to not wanting to leave when it's time to go. i know this will be a big transition, we'll just have to take one day at a time. luckily there will be a few familiar faces there like siena's friend sophia who has gone to her daycare for the past two years and rocco will join siena next fall.
