selena!

our lovely friend selena is in town to celebrate her 30th birthday. siena and i went to her birthday party last weekend. last time we visited with selena was in nyc when siena was 9 months old. siena immediately took to being around selena and even cuddled with her. they also shared a few laughs over eating sour apples and siena couldn't get enough of the birthday cake.

at a recent family bar-b-que siena really enjoyed playing with her 7-year-old cousin sophia. siena definitely likes being around older kids. she watches them closely and tries to do whatever they're doing. it's always sweet to watch the interaction between two children.

alameda county fair.

i grew up going to this fair, but haven't been in years. nick wasn't too thrilled about going and now wants to make it a yearly tradition. we went with auntie tartar and lindsay and it was SO much fun. siena especially enjoyed the silly animal show, soft serve ice cream, pretending to drive a security golf cart and watching the lights of the rides. we'll definitely be back.

aunt denise.

auntie denise (grandma mimi's sister) came to visit us from colorado this past weekend. it was such a treat to spend time with her. last time denise saw siena was when she 3 months old. we picked denise up from the airport and went to a nice lunch where siena was thrilled to meet four fake dogs. at first she was a little apprehensive because they were so still, but after figuring out they were fake was totally into them. she made both denise and mimi sit down with her to play with the dogs. siena really enjoyed when mimi made them drink from the water bowl. i never thought that a ceramic dog could be as entertaining as a real dog.

siena had a lovely visit with auntie bubbles (my aunt jill) last week. she made siena giggle during bath time and while reading books, it was so nice to spend time together.

nothing better than enjoying watermelon with a good friend on a hot summer day.

busy.

papa came over for a visit and siena kept him quite busy reading books, taking a walk in the front yard and giving him a very extensive tour of the vegetable garden. siena has a lot to say these days and we're working hard to understand the details. she's also very clear when telling you what she wants you to do or not do, so be ready to listen up and follow orders.

last weekend we went up to sonoma with friends for some pool time. siena enjoyed being around so many aunties and uncles and of course cute sinai.

siena and i took a ride up to sonoma this past monday, we were long overdue for a visit. we had a nice lunch with nonnie, watched the ducks swim at the square, played at the park with tutu, cooled off with some ice water, did some gardening with baba and then relaxed in the hammock. i think it was one of the nicest days siena and i have had lately. 

fourth.

siena enjoyed herself at alexis and rob's 4th of july party. she brought people beers and pretended to drink her very own, visited with sinai, muluk, uncles and aunties, and even had some yummy cupcake thanks to auntie josah. 

burritos.

the collins' (anna, nate, mia and levi) came over for dinner and some play time last week. the kids tested out the structure, ate on the run and just enjoyed themselves in general. how nice it is to have friends with little crazy ones as well. 

a nice visit.

sophie and bina came back to the bay for a short visit. as usual we love seeing them both. siena was in an interesting mood, but they definitely enjoyed each other's company. i think the bath was most fun which led to naked time and who doesn't love naked time?
