melanie.

melanie is our yoga teacher and friend. since i go back to work in a couple of weeks our weekly class will be coming to an end. i have been studying with melanie since i was pregnant with siena rose. it's always a pleasure to be in her presence. last week rocco was bounced to sleep in her arms holding his right foot tightly.

last weekend we joined sinai for some play time at his house, then went to the point richmond fall festival. the kids had fun in the jumpy castle and did a nice job sharing licks of cupcake frosting.

five months old and more darling daily.

meet esther...

rocco and i drove over to the city last week to meet our new friend esther (little sister to dottie and daughter of mara and chuck). she is a little under 3 weeks and tiny, at least compared to rocco! what's funny is rocco was once that size as well, even though esther could fit inside him now. thanks for having us over, it was a pleasure to meet your new sweet girl.

this past weekend we had a sleepover with siena's cousin khalil (who she affectionately calls kiki). siena was thrilled to go to sleep and wake-up to kiki in her room. he even helped her out of her crib in the morning so she didn't need to call us in to do it. she also slept in until 7:30 which is a small miracle. in the morning we headed out to a pumpkin patch at an organic farm in fremont. each of us picked out a pumpkin, the kids ran through a hay maze and we saw some beautiful horses all before it started to rain. a very nice sunday morning.

as usual we had a nice friday with tutu. siena and rocco tried the swing together which was fun, but barely fit. we just have two big kids.

siena had her first visit to the dentist on friday. she did AMAZING! really, i almost cried as she did everything the dentist asked her to with no fuss. i even had to wake her up from a nap to get to the appointment on time and she did great. i have many little worries about siena and then i see her be so brave and confident in a new situation and i know we've done good. oh and she has no cavities! yippee!

holiday...

since monday was a holiday (columbus day if you live outside the bay area, but we call it indigenous peoples' day here) we got together with alexis & stella and vida & sinai. we went to the park in vida's hood and then walked to lunch. as always a pleasure to be with my mama friends.

the collins' (anna, nate, mia and levi) joined us for brunch last weekend. it's always nice to visit with them and this time siena and mia really played well together. since levi showed up in his superman shirt, we had to put rocco in his as well (used to be my brothers when he was a baby). nick put tattoos on the kids and after eating we had lollipops. what more could you want from a brunch with friends?
