sadie & sammy!

siena loves visiting with sadie (5 months) and her mama sammy. sadie is very interactive and siena feeds off her reactions. this weekend we get to go to sammy and gabe's wedding and siena is so very excited.

this morning siena said to me, "me like mommy so much." that simple sentence made my heart sing.

bling!

check out that bindi! nick has been decorating his bike for burning man and siena got into his supplies. she wanted the jewel put in the middle of her forehead and wore it all evening until it came off in the hot tub.

bishop!

auntie natalie has a pet horse named bishop. since i told siena about bishop, she has been adamant about visiting him. so last friday we finally made it to the stable to meet sweet (23-year-old) bishop. tutu, uncle io, aya and khalil joined us as well. siena was overwhelmed and a little frightened at all the horses, but was so brave and interested as well. we walked around while natalie introduced all the horses to us. siena spent a lot of time in natalie's arms, but eventually put her feet on the ground. we even got to paint a pink 's' on bishop's bum. siena is still talking about bishop and worries that he misses his mama natalie because they don't live together. what a sweet girl we have.

russian river...

recently we went on a family vacation to the russian river. it was a relaxing long weekend. siena is a very good traveler (she isn't always flexible, but she is very adaptable). she likes new places and new experiences, plus on this vacation she got a lot of attention from her auntie tashi and papa. i don't think she had one breakdown while we were away. nick and siena went kayaking on the river, we walked to a local community garden and sampled the goods, siena and cousin sophia played in the barbie jeep, we ran on the beach and saw mommy and baby seals, and we celebrated great grandma magda's birthday. it was a treat!

more ricky...

now that siena and ricky are friends we need to continue cultivating their relationship. before mimi left back to santa fe we went on a walk with ricky to the park. siena really enjoyed watching mimi and ricky going down the slide. i don't think she ever saw a dog do that before.

yippee!

the daterra's are back home for good from their long adventure and we are very happy. last week we met aya and uncle io at the park for some fun. we were lucky enough to see 10 baby ducks swimming with their mama. i can't imagine taking care of 10 babies, yikes! but mama duck was doing a great job keeping all her babies together and also snapping at the bigger ducks when they got to close.

3 months!

rocco i s 3 months old and almost 17 pounds! he's trying real hard to catch up to siena who weighs in at 36 pounds.

visit with uncle josh...

siena, rocco and stella got to hang with cool uncle josh while he was home for a long weekend. they all really liked him.

potty trained!

siena is proud to announce that she is officially potty trained. we can't express how nice it is to only change one child's diapers. thank you siena!

family fun...

siena had a breakthrough and is now friends with mimi's dog ricky. it really is a miracle because siena has been so afraid of this sweet little dog since mimi brought him home. now she is chasing him around and letting him get real close to her. yeah for siena for getting over her fears!

zeke!

rocco and i were lucky enough to catch up with rebecca and her family recently. not only did we get to see zeke (almost 5 months) we got to see the big boys tommy and theo and rebecca's nephew nathan. the 2 month difference between rocco and zeke is definitely still visible, but much smaller than when they first met. rebecca and i have known each other for our whole lives, it's a treat that our boys will also.

barrel tasting...

baba had his annual barrel tasting up in sonoma last weekend. rocco got to visit with his great grandma nonnie and meet his cousins mark and robin for the first time. since it was such a nice day we also went down to the goldman's pool with vida and sinai to cool off. it's always a treat to go up to sonoma.
