a weekend away.

the weekend before last we went on our first family vacation. we drove up to groveland to attend pete and jaime's wedding. we rented a house with gabe, sammy and sadie which was perfect. siena loved living with sammy and sadie and gabe made us yummy breakfast every morning. the drive up and down was hot, especially in my mercedes that doesn't have air conditioning (i think it's time for a new car we just need to find the $). however, the kids did great only making one stop at a fruit stand for treats and a diaper change. we drove into yosemite on friday to see some sights and play in the river. then we headed out to the rehearsal dinner where siena made some new friends and joked around with baby julius. rocco got dressed up in a tie to match his dada. tutu bobbin came up on friday night to help us out which made all the difference (thank you again tutu!). saturday we went to the pine mountain lake and played on the beach which siena thought was great! then after a nice big nap we made our way to the wedding. the wedding site was so beautiful right on a river with lots of trees and fun play areas. pete and jaime were relaxed and happy with sweet julius by their side. siena and sadie happened to have the exact same dress which made siena SO happy to be 'same same' as her new little friend. what was even better was gabe and nick were 'same same' too because they both were groomsmen. rocco decided to wear a bow tie to the wedding, but slept through most of the affair so no one really noticed it. after the ceremony siena put her feet in the pool to cool off with her friend andre while eating snacks. later in the evening siena went home with tutu and we stayed to watch pete be thrown in the pool and nick jump in after him. all in all it was a totally successful weekend and first family trip. we look forward to taking more adventures as a family of four soon.
